Voices’ Operational
Premise
Good decisions are founded in empirical
data. As we work with experts to identify and prioritize
the many issues that impact outcomes for children, we
collect data to support our policy positions.
2003 San Antonio Children’s Data Book
Published by Voices in 2003, the trend lines describing
the conditions of children in San Antonio and Bexar
County unfortunately remain similar today.
Children Can’t Wait: Charting the Well-Being of
San Antonio Children
Produced under contract to Voices in 2002 by Dr. Robert
Brischetto, this report provided the scholarly
foundation for the later publication of the Data Book.
It provides a more detailed examination of many more
indicators of child well-being in San Antonio.
Other valuable data sources for children include:
San Antonio
Metropolitan Health District Health Profiles

Census data.

Children Can't Wait: Charting the
Well-Being of San Antonio Children
Robert Brischetto, Ph.D. and Keith Lyons compiled
much of the research that went into the Data Book.
We have included these files in PDFform below. They
provide useful information that augments the findings
published in The Data Book.
